Experience:

Upon his graduation from Columbia Law School in 1988, Mr. Kahn joined Morgan, Lewis & Bockius (New York, NY) an international law firm where he served as an Associate in the real estate department. 

In 1994 Mr. Kahn became Associate Counsel of Melville Corporation, a large retail holding company where he specialized in the leasing, acquisition and development of shopping centers as well as ‘Big Box’ retail leasing representing Melville’s large format retailers, such as Marshall’s, Linens ‘N Things and Bob’s Stores. 

In 1996, Mr. Kahn joined Footstar, Inc., a smaller retail holding company controlling brands such as Thom McAn, Footaction and Just for Feet, as their Vice President and Real Estate Counsel.  Mr. Kahn was responsible for all real estate related activities at Footstar other than site acquisition and construction.  In addition to drafting and negotiating all of the retail leases, Mr. Kahn managed lease administration, lease accounting and the company’s leased store portfolio. Mr. Kahn oversaw the bankruptcy dispositions of approximately 500 leased stores owned by Footstar.  

In 2004, Mr. Kahn started his own law firm specializing in commercial real estate. The firm represents many local and national clients including Vornado Realty Trust, Rainbow Apparel, Wharton Acquisitions, dELiA*s, Madison Capital, Rickshaw Dumpling Bar, Children's Place, Vineyard Vines and Superdry.
